Thirty SomethingThis article is mainly written for people who live in Adelaide, South Australia. Thirty Something is a Christian ministry for people who are single or single again. It's a department of Paradise Community Church and it is run by John and Anna Villani. Their desire is to create a safe environment where hurting people can be helped in practical as well as spiritual ways. There are public meetings held every fortnight at the church (In the youth, hall upstairs at the back/river end of the building). A map is available on the paradise website. At the meetings there is worship, teaching and fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere and on the alternate weeks there are "Life Groups", (small house group meetings), where you can meet people who have been through similar situations as yourself. One meeting that is held on a regular basis is called "Acts of kindness". On “Acts of Kindness” nights, people are blessed in practical ways. When the Bible talks about love, it talks about sacrifice not just warm fuzzy feelings. While feelings are nice, people are encouraged to show love in practical ways. Divorce RecoverySometimes "religious" people can treat you like a leper when you are divorced but many of the people at Thirty Something understand what it is like to go through separation and divorce and see God as a God of mercy; a God of the second chance and that is the attitude that you will find there.A Divorce Recovery Seminar is run on a regular basis and the aim of the seminar is to help people with practical advice as well as help them to heal emotionally.
