To the Sceptics

Read "To Sceptics who used to be Christians" if you used to be a Christian and have given up on Christianity.
If like Josh McDowell and Lee Strobel you are someone who is willing to search out and listen to evidence then I can assure you that no matter who you are or what you have done God loves you and he can make himself real to you on a personal level. The love I'm talking about means "love in action", I mean willingly enduring insults, being beaten, spat on, whipped in a way that involves chunks of flesh being ripped off the bone, having barbed nails driven through wrists and feet, being slowly asphyxiated, suffering extreme thirst and eventually dieing of an exploding heart, all so that you can be forgiven. Jesus suffered that because he loves you. I am convinced that if you genuinely seek God he will make himself real to you.
"If you look for me [God] in earnest, you will find me when you seek me." Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT).
If you have made up your mind that you don’t want to believe in God no matter what, if you don’t care even if miracles (I'm talking about lame people walking and blind people seeing) do actually happen and even if God really does exist, (whether he is a good God or not) then I’ve got some good news as well as bad news for you. The good news is that God is not going to force you to believe in him. There is nothing that any Christian can say that can make you believe in God against your will. The bad news is that you are missing out on knowing a wonderful God who wants to bless you beyond what you can even imagine. No I’m not just saying that and I do mean you. No matter what you have done or what you have said about God. Do I realise that I’m talking mainly to agnostics and atheists? Yes I do. The point is God is real whether you believe in him or not. How do I know? God has revealed himself to me in a personal and powerful way. Can I prove it? Not to someone who doesn’t want proof. I wish I could do some kind of Vulcan mind-meld but God wants to interact with you on a personal level. Ultimately you need evidence of your own, something that is real to you. But you have to want God to reveal himself to you and that means disregarding what your friends and family will think. That also means believing that he is a good and merciful God and someone that you would really want to know. If your mind is even slightly open then I challenge you to ask God to make himself real to you. Ok, so you are an atheist/agnostic and you don’t believe in God and as far as you are concerned you would be talking to no one. Then you have nothing to lose, do you? So why would you be afraid of praying if no one can hear you? Just say the words
“God, if you are a God of love and if you are real then make yourself real to me. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
See the evidence page for links to some helpful websites if you want to investigate this further.
