What is RSS?

The most popular definition of RSS is Really Simple Syndication.
With RSS you can publish articles in a way that lets you tell people who have subscribed to your RSS “feed” that you have just published something new.
For instance if you would like to keep up with the latest Creation/Evolution news you could subscribe to Creation Ministries International’s feed.
So how do you subscribe to a feed?
First you join up to an online reader site like Google or MyYahoo or you can download a feed reader. Another option is to use a web browser like Firefox that has the ability to read RSS feeds built into it.
Then you look out for icons, like this one RSS, that will either appear on a webpage itself or in the case of Firefox, it will appear in the address bar as well.
You can then click on the icon and copy the feed’s link from the address bar and paste the link into your feed reader.
Peter Kelly has written an article on RSS that goes into more detail and is interesting for the way that he describes his perspective on how new things are adopted over the Internet.
