Moonlight Sonata RemixMoody Synth VersionThis is my Ambient/Atmospheric mix of Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2, (Moonlight Sonata first movement) Music is an interest that I've had for a number of years. I would describe myself as a 'frustrated musician'. Basically as guitarist, I make a reasonable computer programmer. So now that music software and sampled sounds are starting to become reasonably affordable, it's making it possible for people like me who are rhythmically challenged to put together mixes of our favorite tracks. My main taste in music over the years has been hard rock, yet I like just about any style so long as it has a catchy melody. Moonlight Sonata is one particular classical piece that has been a favorite of mine for a number of years. (I love its sad moody melody). So shortly after I purchased FL Studio I loaded up an old midi file of Moonlight Sonata and experimented with a few of the preset voices that Sytrus has. Sytrus is one of the synthesizers that are bundled with various versions of FL Studio. I also tried out a few of the drum loops that come with FL Studio. Once I had the levels right was to add some reverb (the default settings worked fine) and a hint of chorus and phaser effects to the track. You can also purchase FL studio and receive a 10% discount by clicking on my affiliate link. FL studio has lots of free tutorials that are available after you register your product. Or you can search for 'FL Studio tutorial' on YouTube and find lots of amateur tutorials of varying quality. To see how a gifted musician can make use of FL Studio check out Ronald Jenkees uploads on YouTube. Ronald sells his tracks on iTunes. Don't let the web cam sound quality or first impressions put you off, this guy knows how to play.
