God's Healing Power
Amazing miracles are still occurring today
and if you need healing then
God can heal you. God is
healing people all over the world. God loves you and he cares about
your situation. If you are sick or need healing of any kind then you
can take comfort in the fact that God loves to heal people.
How do I know? Isaiah 53:5 says
‘But he was wounded and crushed
for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped,
and we were healed!’ (NLT).
The whipping scene from the movie, ‘The Passion of the Christ’ was a
real event. It was God's way of showing how much he loves us. It might
not make sense to you that you ‘were’ healed when Jesus was whipped but
that could happen because Jesus is God clothed in a human body. The
suffering that Jesus went through on our behalf was a supernatural
event.
I don’t know why God does not heal everyone instantly but I do know
that he can heal and he does heal people. He is a compassionate God. He
cares about your needs.
How can you receive healing?
First it is important for you to know that healing occurs in the name
of Jesus.
Acts 3:16 “The name of
Jesus has healed this man—and you know how lame he was before. Faith in
Jesus’ name has caused this healing before your very eyes.” (NLT)
Jesus is our healer. The Bible records that Jesus performed countless
miracles. Jesus felt compassion for sick people and he is still healing
today.
So how can you meet with Jesus so that he can heal you today? You need
to
get together with
people who believe in Jesus and who believe that he can heal you. Jesus
said …
"I
also tell you this: If two of you agree down here on earth concerning
anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.
For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I am
there among them." Matthew 18:19-20 (NLT)
You need to ask Christians to pray for you. The Apostle James wrote,
Are any among you
sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray
over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. And their
prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them
well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. James
5:14 (NLT)
If you need healing then I would encourage you to find
a church where they pray for healing.
If you are housebound or in hospital then either phone a church and see
if a minister can come and visit you or ask someone to phone them for
you. If the first church you phone does not believe in healing then
keep trying until you find born again Christians who will pray for you
and believe for you to be healed.
If you live in a remote village where there are no churches then try to
find some Christians and pray with them. Ask God to bring them to you.
